The Realms of Lakoria campaign setting is an expansive, original world, first designed by me in 2003. After my initial concepts, I designed maps and descriptions throughout 2004. Then, finally adopting D&D 3e as a rules set, I began running a tabletop game in 2005, set in the 3rd age of Lakorian history. This game ran off and on for two years, before I put Lakoria to rest for a time.
In May 2009, after briefly joining a Play-by-Post campaign run by Scott Driver, I opened my own forum for the Lakorian setting and recruited players through SteelValor's gaming website, bulletproofpixel. This was the launch of PBP Realms of Lakoria, Adventures in the 4th Age, using the OSRIC as a rules base.
The PBP Realms of Lakoria ran until March 2011, finally succumbing to loss of momentum that the medium of Play-by-Post engenders. After my friend blizack created a wiki for his original campaign, I decided to follow suit and move Lakoria to this medium both to archive the campaign's stories, places, and characters, and in the hopes that this compendium can supplement a face-to-face, tabletop game in the near future.
Links to the various sections of the wiki can be found in the menu above and with the quick links to the left.
Game statistics, when they appear, are presented in a format intended for use with the Old School Reference & Index Compilation (OSRIC), a freely available ruleset that is compatible with most supplementary publications of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (TSR 1982).
The format of this site is patterned after the organization of Scott Driver's own fantasy campaign wiki (The Darkling Grimoire), blizack's campaign wiki (The Bladed Earth), and the New York Red Box compendium. Like each of these wiki sites, I freely borrow and use inspiring concepts from other sources for use in my campaign, but the execution as compiled here is entirely original work by myself and my players/contributers.
Any elements of this site that seem representative of a recognizable work are purely coincedental. Any purposely referential concepts fall under the fair use copyright law. This site is not a commercial venture and in no way intends to misappropriate or misrepresent any original creators' rights. In the same spirit, please feel free to read and view my maps, and share ideas inspired here under fair use; but, please do not steal my maps, names, and concepts for any commercial use because that would be kind of rude.
This site is currently a work in progress, so there's not much in the way of content just yet. The banner image is by Chris Vermeren, and the character art that is the background of the page is by Kent Bonifield.
